The use of medicinal marijuana has been approved in Argentina.
Law No. 588, enacted by Governor Mario Das Neves in the Argentine province of Chubut, incorporates marijuana oil for the treatment of "Dravet syndrome," known as epilepsy.
According to the new legislation, marijuana oil will be added to the list of medicines and will be provided in public hospitals.
The law passed on Saturday, September 24th specifies in its article 588:
“Cannabis oil is incorporated into the province's public health formulary as an alternative treatment for the treatment of Dravet syndrome and other pathologies deemed appropriate by the provincial health ministry.”.
