The legalization of recreational or medicinal marijuana use in 23 US states has generated interest from American television producers to create series on the subject.

Specifically, they are working on six new productions that revolve around the world of marijuana:

Disjointed, A comedy about a group of marijuana users set in a Colorado dispensary. Created by renowned producer Chuck Lorre, responsible for series such as Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.

Time traveling pot, A series that revolves around a hookah that allows its users to travel through time. Produced by Comedy Central.

High maintenance, A comedy about a Brooklyn marijuana dealer (the guy) and her group of clients. It's an HBO adaptation of the web series High Maintenance.

Highland, In this film, Margaret Cho, after leaving rehab, moves in with a dysfunctional family that runs a marijuana club. Produced by Amazon, it's a blend of drama and comedy.

Buds, A series based on the daily life of a marijuana dispensary. Produced by NBC and created by Naomi and Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation).

Hollyweed, The series stars screenwriter, producer, and director Kevin Smith. Kevin is a well-known filmmaker and marijuana user, and this project is financed by FremantleMedia along with five companies related to the cannabis industry (Weedmaps, G-pen, DNA genetics, ACME elixirs, and RAW).
