Pablo Iglesias wants to legalize marijuana in Spain
Pablo Iglesias, general secretary of Podemos, defends the legalization of the sale and cultivation of marijuana in Spain.
He also welcomes Canada's decision to legalize recreational marijuana use. He believes Spain should follow suit.
He states that this would put an end to the crime generated by its illegal trafficking. Furthermore, it could also generate significant tax revenue to fund public services.
He believes it is more dignified to export marijuana and obtain income to improve health and public services than to export weapons.
He points out that "it's a joke that you can buy alcoholic beverages in a supermarket and the sale of cannabis is illegal.".
Pablo Iglesias: “Enough of the hypocrisy, marijuana must be legalized.”
Pablo Iglesias is ashamed that Spain is a leader in arms trafficking. However, it is not a leader in cannabis, which is no more dangerous to health than alcohol or tobacco.
And he asserts that medical studies have discussed the palliative benefits of marijuana for therapeutic treatments.
