Paraguay grants licenses to produce medicinal cannabis
Health authorities describe the decision to grant the first licenses as a "historic step forward".
This process will also have the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the National Directorate of Sanitary Surveillance (Dinavisa) and the body in charge of the application of international conventions and agreements related to plant quality and health (Senad).
According to Senad, this process can favor the development of those peasant families in Paraguay conditioned by illicit activity.
Therefore, 12 licenses for the production and medicinal industrialization of cannabis will be granted in Paraguay.

Furthermore, the law stipulates that 21% of the production will be donated to the Ministry of Health for patients in need. The remainder of the production will be destined for export.
