Podemos proposes the legalization of cannabis

Starting this Saturday, October 31, 2015, the Podemos political party will put its electoral program to a vote among its supporters.

One of the points of this program is the decriminalization of the cultivation and possession of cannabis, both on a personal and collective level.

It also proposes regulating social clubs by convening a working group that considers the regulation of the production, distribution and consumption of cannabis, as well as guaranteeing the fundamental freedoms and rights of consumers.

Another point of this program is the annulment of the Concordat with the Holy See and the privileges of the Church and other creeds, ensuring the secularism of the State and its neutrality by replacing the current law on religious freedom with the law on freedom of conscience.

They propose to repeal the articles of the Penal Code that criminalize offenses against religious feelings, eliminate the Church's tax privileges and religious celebrations in official acts, abolish chaplaincies and religious services in public institutions such as hospitals, prisons, universities, and recover the properties registered by the Church.

Regarding educational matters, the proposal includes a subject called "Emotional Intelligence" for secondary school students.

Other points in this proposal include the prohibition of evictions unless alternative housing is provided, the cancellation of returns of people in border areas, access to the electoral register through the municipal register, the recognition of passive suffrage for foreign residents, and the halting of large works that have not been awarded.
