Expogrow 2015 consolidates itself among the strongest cannabis fairs

  • More than 17,000 people attended the fourth edition of Expogrow

Expogrow, the cannabis trade fair held at Ficoba over the weekend, closed its doors last Sunday. Organizers are very pleased with the event, as the fairgrounds' three pavilions hosted 150 exhibiting companies, around fifty of which were exhibiting for the first time. The general impression is that "it's a well-established fair, increasingly specialized, with a knowledgeable audience, and very fruitful for the sector," organizers stated yesterday. From Friday to Sunday, Expogrow welcomed over 17,000 visitors, including the general public, professionals, exhibitors, and staff. French participation accounted for almost 651,320 visitors this year.

One of the highlights was the International Social Forum, which featured several debates on regulation. This forum included presentations by Ethan Nadelmann, Lisa Sánchez, and Charlo Green, among others. Uruguayan Augusto Vitale was another prominent figure at the event. The organizers recognized his personal commitment—he dedicated his vacation time to participating in the fair—with the Best International Activist award, presented by Fermín Muguruza.

New this year was the B2B session, closed to the public, where industry professionals were able to conduct business with their clients.

Also noteworthy were the performances of Third World, who demonstrated on stage that their universal reggae is still very much in vogue; Marina P, with her soulful proposal with daring touches; and the electric Flavia Coelho, who revolutionized the tent located outside the Irun fairgrounds.
