Pennsylvania legalizes medical marijuana with a doctor's certificate
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has signed a law legalizing medical marijuana in the state. This brings the total number of states in the United States that allow the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes to 24.
Pennsylvania law allows users with a medical certificate to obtain marijuana at government-approved dispensaries. It also establishes the framework for regulating distribution, certifying physicians, and licensing those who wish to cultivate and sell marijuana.
Wolf stated he was proud to sign a law that can offer medical relief and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
The implementation of the program will take between 18 and 24 months.
