{"id":18961,"date":"2020-02-26T10:18:21","date_gmt":"2020-02-26T10:18:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clon.genehtik.com\/?p=18961"},"modified":"2020-02-26T10:55:53","modified_gmt":"2020-02-26T10:55:53","slug":"paraguay-licencias-cannabis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genehtik.com\/en\/actualidad-cannabis\/paraguay-licencias-cannabis\/","title":{"rendered":"Paraguay grants licenses to produce medicinal cannabis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>This Monday, Julio Mazzoleni, Minister of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay, announced the start of the licensing process for the medicinal production of cannabis.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Health authorities describe the decision to grant the first licenses as a &quot;historic step forward&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>This process will also have the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the National Directorate of Sanitary Surveillance (Dinavisa) and the body in charge of the application of international conventions and agreements related to plant quality and health (Senad).<\/p>\n<p>According to Senad, this process can favor the development of those peasant families in Paraguay conditioned by illicit activity.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, 12 licenses for the production and medicinal industrialization of cannabis will be granted in Paraguay.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Annabelle SA<\/li>\n<li>Comfar SAECA<\/li>\n<li>CannaPar Consortium<\/li>\n<li>Green Flower Consortium<\/li>\n<li>Convergence SA<\/li>\n<li>Dutriec SA<\/li>\n<li>Fusquim SA Improlabs Consortium<\/li>\n<li>AFA Group SA<\/li>\n<li>AS Farm SA Laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Pharma Industries SA<\/li>\n<li>Swiss Pharma Group SA<\/li>\n<li>Tavira SA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mazzoleni also states that it will be a treatment option for selected patients and also an advance for the national pharmaceutical industry.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Furthermore, SENAD is responsible for implementing the crop control protocol. This protocol limits cultivation to a maximum of 5 hectares, requires the installation of cameras, and guarantees immediate access for SENAD technicians.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a document approval process, and it will be necessary to verify if they comply with the safety requirements in order to obtain approval.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the law stipulates that 21% of the production will be donated to the Ministry of Health for patients in need.
