Brendan Flores and Brandie Larrabe, two marijuana users, have filed a lawsuit against LivWell, one of the world's largest marijuana producers. This is the first lawsuit filed against a cannabis company in the United States.<\/p>\n
The lawsuit was filed alleging the use of pesticides in their product, specifically Eagle 20. The plants allegedly affected by this product were sold in Colorado.<\/p>\n
Eagle 20 is a pesticide used against pests and contains hydrogen cyanide among other substances.<\/p>\n
The two consumers use marijuana for therapeutic purposes and have stated that they would not have used the product had they known.<\/p>\n
Flores told the Los Angeles Times:<\/p>\n
\u00ab"I want these companies to take a step back and look at what they're putting into their products.".<\/p>\n
\u00ab"They're adding chemicals to make things more efficient and more powerful. But they have so many chemicals now that it might be better to get prescription drugs.".<\/p>\n
LivWell, on the other hand, denies using the product, although it admitted to using it against pests. This April, Colorado authorities examined 60,000 of the company's plants for traces of Eagle 20, but found only low levels.<\/p>\n
The lawyer representing the two consumers, Steven Woodrow, believes that the product is for human consumption and should be in the same category as a box of eggs or a carton of milk.<\/p>\n
Flores believes that the marijuana industry is only interested in making money at the expense of product quality, stating that:<\/p>\n
