To test the ambiguous local legislation, the non-governmental organization C420, founded in 2014, will import marijuana seeds to Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n

The law does not penalize consumption but neither does it regulate it. The Dangerous Drugs Act of 1991 permits the cultivation, distribution, and sale of marijuana to anyone with a license, but sets no limits.<\/p>\n

Colin Stephenson, director and co-founder of C420, stated: \u201cOur intention is to test the law because there are many aspects that are not defined.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Among the aspects that are not defined by the law are the lack of knowledge about who can apply for licenses and the lack of knowledge about what type of marijuana plants can be imported or consumed.<\/p>\n

For all these reasons, this NGO has decided to import marijuana seeds to generate legislative changes and see how local authorities react.<\/p>\n

Stephenson has contacted several marijuana seed suppliers in Amsterdam to arrange a seed donation to his organization as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The organization plans to start cultivating seeds at its facilities and provide the extracted oil to citizens and entities that have requested licenses for medicinal purposes.<\/p>\n

Public education about cannabis use and promoting cultivation are two of the organization's main objectives, and according to its leaders, this would help revitalize the region's agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
