Marijuana in downtown Las Vegas
Today, the first medical marijuana dispensary opens its doors on the Strip, the avenue of casinos in Las Vegas.
The dispensary is run by Armen Yemenidjian, an Armenian businessman, and is located between the SLS Las Vegas and Stratosphere hotels (casinos). It is a licensed facility where users with a medical prescription can purchase marijuana. It will also be the first dispensary to attract tourists and passersby due to its location on the Strip.
Armen Yemenidjian believes most of his customers will be tourists from other states like California and Colorado, who will come with their medical marijuana cards. He currently sources his marijuana from other vendors but will soon offer his own, operating from his warehouse located less than two kilometers from the Strip.
Meanwhile, in November, Nevada residents are expected to vote on the initiative to legalize the recreational use of marijuana for people over 21.
The Las Vegas dispensaries are expected to generate a lot of tax revenue for the state.
In Las Vegas you can drink alcohol in the street, prostitution is open, and you can get medical marijuana.
It seems that in Vegas the 'party' can now be complete.
